Objective: The purpose of this article is to review definitions, causes, effect of stress and stress management among nurses.
Material and Method: Literature review of articles related to stress management in nurses from academic articles, original and online journals, and expert opinion were performed. The inclusive criteria were stress management among nurses and there are 23 article qualitative, descriptive and systematic review researches were reviewed.
Results: The stress of nurses means any event that occurs as aprovocation from internal and external pressures to nurses frustration and suffering feeling whilce nurses are not sure how to handle these situations. It was found our that individual nurse characteristics and working environment are the causes of job stress in nurses. In addition. Stress can have an impact on either physical response by heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar increasing and physical illnesses occurring and or on psychological responses such as displeasure, being angry, anxiety, fear, upset and depression. This stress leads some nurses simply make a mistake, give up burn out finally leading to change, absence and leaving their job. The stress management of nurses showed that nurses can handle themselves. Heare are the most common ways that nurses can cope such as using relaxation technique, recreational activities, reframing negative thoughts into positive ones, problem-focused coping followed by emotion-focused coping building positive family and colleague relationships or creative communication, strengthening mind-body connection, and received counselling.
Conclusion: Nurses accept that stress is a situation in real life, which can be managed reasonably. Stress management among nurses was simple to apply in daily life. Furthermore, it will be beneficial to nurses job satisfaction creation, including body and mind for nurses.
