In Thailand, agriculture is one of the major occupations; 40.6 percent the of workers are farmers mostly working in rice paddy. The objectives of this participatory action research were to study processes and to recognize related occupational health and safety problems in rice farming in Tambon Khlong 7, Khlong Luand district, Pathum Thani. The process of rice farming and health hazards were intensively discussed and analyzed collectively by researchers and 24 rice farmer volunteers in all 9 villages in the study area. There were 6 steps of rice farming which included land-preparing germinating and sowing, pesticides-mixing and spraying, fertilizing, weeding, and rice-harvesting process. In that connection, the farmers were subject to injuries, radiation heat, diseases, chemicals, smoke, organic dust, noise, fatigue, stress, and pain.
