The investigation for HIV infected person is very complicated for the physicians now because they must do at least things. The first is begging the informed consent for collecting the sample, either blood or other secretion, and the second is to give him the information about the investigation and result, pre and post-test counseling for HIV test .The informed consent relates to the “Patient’s Right” declared by Thai Medical Council and the legal acts, civil and criminal aspects, to one’s body. The Medical Council has had two exanple cases punishing the members, medical practitioners, for the reason that they did not give the patients neither pre-test counseling nor post-test counseling. The details and cases would be presented in lecture.
