Mental Health Development between 2007-2008 has been operating based upon the Mental Health Department emphasizing an implementation of preventive, curative and rehabilitative cares of mental health problems such as depression , suicide, stigmatization, substance use disorders, community psychiatry, mental health legislation, crisis mental health, EQ and IQ development of normal and autistic children. These developments have conducted by establishing of many significant mental health operations, which include the research studies, and development of the body of knowledge and technologies for the promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of mental health for all. These 4 services can be integrated into public health system in all levels. The ratio of mental health promotion, prevention and medical care should be different in each level of public health facilities. Rehabilitation can be provided in all levels equally, mental health prevention in community level is primary prevention, but in secondary medical and specialized medical care is secondary prevention. Therefore, organizations that provide mental health promotion and prevention are Mental Health Regional Center, whereas the Psychiatric hospitals support treatment and rehabilitation, which is specialized and more complicated than other levels. Results from the significant mental health operations during 2007-2008 have been worked through to determine the direction of mental health care in the future. These directions are important the quality of services (e.g. hospital accreditation, national guideline for important mental health problem), implementing the mental health low, developing the technical knowledge and management system, integrating of mental health services into general health system and international mental health development.
