The research program was devised in order to study the attitude of the relatives toeard mental patients, the cause and treatment of mental illness; and to provide the relatives with advices about patients to prevent them from readmission. The findings revealed that the relatives strongly accepted their mentally ill patients. Most of them had low education and were from low socio-economic stastus. They believed that mental illnessses were caused by devils. Other attitudes were also discussed in the article.
