รายละเอียด / Details:

To develop Thai Family Functioning Scale TFFS and investigate its psychometric properties. To compare the psychometric properties of the TFFS to those of the Thai version of the Family Assessment Device FAD. This study was a non-experimental study and used convenience sampling. To assess content validity a panel of Thai experts evaluated the 60-items of the FAD Thai version and the additional 37 items of family functioning developed by the researcher to be culturally appropriate. The questionnaire was then administered to 1,204 male and female adolescents aged 15 to 19. They also completed the Gealth-Related Self-Report HRSR scale a Thai assessment of depression. The results indicated thaat the TFFS had satisfactory content, construct discriminant, and predicitive validity. In addition, the total scale of the TFFS and each subscale had appropriate internal consistency and test-retest reliability. The Thai version of the FAD showed satisfactory discriminant and predictive validity and reliability for the total scale. In summary, the TFFS had better psychometric properties than the Thai version of the FAD in terms of content and construct validity, including reliability. Therefore, the TFFS is more appropriate than the Thai version of the FAD to measure family functioning of Thai families.
