The purpose of this study was to examine the ability of schizophrenic patients and their careers in recognizing the early warning signs of psychosis. This study was a descriptive research. The sample were selected with with purposive sampling method, composed of 20 schizophrenic in-patients and 20 careers. Data were collected by retrospective reconstruction form subject interview. The data were analyzed by percentage and mean. Result : The majority of both patient' group and career's group are wemen. Most of both group can recognize the warning sign (70 - in patient's group 95% in career's group). Most of patients tried to manage the symptoms but only 40% of careers tried to manage the warning signs. The most common warning signs are sleep problem. The Symptoms and signs are idiosyncratic to the patients. Conclusion : Recognition of early warning signs is realistic goal, Patients and their careers can identify warning signs but the effect veneers of self-management are poor. A lot of career's cannot manage warning signs. Base on the finding of this study, the development of symptoms self-management skill should be trained in the patients and their careers.
