This study evluated the outcomes of implementing caring for suicidal attempted patients and exammined the opinions about using of the protocal in Fang Hospital, Chiang Mai province during October 2005 to September 2006. The subjects were 20 nurses who cared for suicide attempted patients and 102 files of suicide attempted patients. The instruments used in this study based on CIPP model were outcome survey from of using the protocal for suicide attempted patients and the opinion survey from about process of using the protocal that was constructed from reviewed literature. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis. Findings were as follows: Outcomes of implementing caring for suicidal attempted patients protocal showed that: 31.37 % of subjects had psychiatric disorders. One hundred percent of subjects were treated with psychotherapy. One hundred percent of subjects never attempted suicide during admittance in the hospital. 76.5 % of subjects followed up at the hospital after discharge. 99.9 % of subjects never attempted suicide 3 months after discharge. The average duration that they stayed in the hospital was 2.18 days. The opinions of the nurse team about using of the caring protocal for suicidal attempted patients in Fang hospital, Chiang Mai province found that: nninety percent of the nurse team who used the caring for suicidal attempted patients protocal in Fang hospital, Chiang Mai province were satisfied with using the protocal. Eighty percent of the nurse team agreed that the protocal was easy to use and useful to the nurse team, in addition it also covered the physical, psychological, and social aspects. Seventy percent of the nurse team can use the protocal.
