Thepurpose of this qualitative study was to understanding suicide attempts of people in working age and opinions of family and community for suicide. The studying area was avillage in Amphur Dokhamtai, Phayao aprovince. The sample was selected from expect group 53 persons. Data were collected from the report pattern 506 DS, in-dept interviews, and focus group. Content analysis was used to analyse datd. Data was checked by using Triangulation analysis technique. The result ware found that the cause of attampted suicide ware isolated personbling is the keeping their problems themselves, viloent emotion, being anger easily, solving problem with emotion. The family aspects found that the way of life changes from going back home after working to drinking alcohol before going back home, family failed relationship, there was contrast in the family,lackinking of efficient communication, lacking of compromis. The social aspects found that they drink alcohal everyday and every fertival. Not social support and surveillance. The economic aspect did not affect attempted suicide. The families were not at risk for suicide. The community was not to concern about their problems and they imitated. These ware beneficial to psychiatric team to understand attempted suicide and opinions of family and community. So, these findings provided planning for prevention and surveillance.
