Objectives: The prupose of this research was firstly to study the effects of the pre-school teacher’s knowledge in psychology and behavior modification to the pre-school children behavior and secondly to compare those effects between an experimental and control group. Materials and methods: From 10 selected schools in Songkhla province five each were assigned to an experimental and control group. There were 429 children in the experimental groups and 377 childrens in the control groups Both groups of children were assessed for behavior problems by their teachers using a SDQ both before and after the experiment. The teachers of the experimental group attended a class psychology and behavior modification and applied to Program for Healthy Eating and Prevention of Obesity in Pre-school Children. Results: The results showed that after the experiment there were no statistically significant difference between either the results of the four behavior scores or for an inter-group comparison. The subjects were observed to have obtained a significant increase in the scores on prosocial behavior and a decrease of scores in hyperactivity behavior. Conclusions. The psychology and behavior modification knowledge of pre-school teachers when used to modify a program was seen to increase the prosocial behavior and decrease hyperactivity behavior in the pre-scool children studied.
