Alcohol industry tries to thwart the alcohol control policy efforts with various strategies, such as self-regulations instead of strict national policies and regulations. More over, the industry establishes international organizations such as International Center for Alcohol Policies, which is financially supported by alcohol industry entirely. The industry tries to create good public images in society by sponsoring various public events and corporate social responsibility activities. The industry is not different than the tobacco industry in trying to create goodwill for society by contributing charitable money in sponsoring worthwhile community projects. From these various projects the industry worldwide is trying to persuade public opinion and government alcohol control policies, in order to avoid the fate of tobacco industry.
